Programmed, in partnership with Yara Pilbara, is offering an exciting opportunity for people in the Karratha community to undertake a Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship commencing in February 2027.
Over four years, you'll earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised trade qualification and develop practical skills working alongside experienced tradespeople within Yara Pilbara's operations.

ABOUT YARA PILBARA
Situated on the scenic Burrup Peninsula, Yara Pilbara hosts one of the world's largest ammonia production facilities, supplying fertiliser to support global agricultural needs. Adjacent to the fertilizer plant is the Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) Plant, producing essential products for the Australian mining sector.
Yara Pilbara is also spearheading initiatives in Western Australia to establish a groundbreaking renewable hydrogen hub in the Pilbara region.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Over the four-year apprenticeship, you will work towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter).
You'll receive a combination of hands-on workplace experience and classroom-based training at TAFE, giving you the practical and theoretical skills required to develop as a qualified Mechanical Fitter.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop skills and experience in areas such as:

You don't need previous trade experience - we're looking for people with the right attitude, an interest in mechanical work and a genuine willingness to learn.
